Responsible, upon the receipt of the tax roll, for collection of taxes and the delivery, of the same,
to the county treasurer and other tax assessing entities. The types of taxes the treasurer is
responsible for collecting are: real property taxes and personal property taxes. The tax amount
is based on the taxable value and the millage assessed by the entity.
The treasurer is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all income, receipts, and
disbursements. The treasurer is also responsible for investing public funds as directed by the
township board, state statue and township investment policy. Funds are invested in
accordance to: 1) Safety of capital, 2) Liquidity, and 3) Return on Investments.
Sewer and Water bills are due by the 15th of the month in which they are issued. A 10%
penalty is due if paid after the 15th.
Summer Taxes are due July 1st and payable through September 14th without penalty. A 1%
penalty per month is added after September 14th. Summer Taxes are delinquent after
February 28th and must be paid with penalty to the Genesee County Treasurer (810 257 3054).
Winter Taxes are due December 1st and payable through February 28th. Winter Taxes are
delinquent after February 28th and must be paid with penalty to the Genesee County Treasurer
(810 257 3054).
Personal Property Taxes are due July 1st and payable through September 14th and
December 1st through February 28th. Personal Property Taxes are delinquent after September
15th and February 28 and can be paid with penalty to the GENESEE TOWNSHIP TREASURER.

Dog Licenses are available at the Township from December 1st through February 28th.
The Treasury Department does not accept post marks on sewer, water or
tax bills.
A $25.00 fee will be assessed for any returned checks.
